چکیده

Abstract A blend of poly(butylene adipate terephthalate) (PBAT) and polylactide (PLA) is a combination biodegradable materials. This study aims to prepare compatibilized PBAT/PLA in cost-effective timesaving way process the material into blown films by fine-tuning processing parameters. First, catalyst masterbatch prepared transesterification PBAT PLA presence tetrabutyl titanate (TBT) as catalyst. followed compounding two polymer types with masterbatch. Third, compounds are processed panels. The parameters for film blowing set reduce anisotropy. Finally, properties evaluated such mechanical tests. parameter settings including blow-up ratio draw-down results higher degree isotropy film. By adding (2 wt%, which corresponds TBT approximately 0.002 wt% copolymers formed) settings, samples achieved significant improvement on properties. morphology cryogenically fractured panel shows decrease diameter dispersed phase. In cross machine directions, elongation at break increased 85 93%, trouser tear propagation resistance 2.4 10 N mm −1 , respectively. Furthermore, both isotropy.

Toughening of biodegradable polylactide/poly(butylene succinate-co-adipate) blends via in situ reactive compatibilization.

Polylactide and poly(butylene succinate-co-adipate) (PLA/PBSA) were melt-blended in the presence of triphenyl phosphite (TPP). An increase in the torque during melt mixing was used to monitor the changes in viscosity as compatibilization of the blends occurred. Scanning electron micrographs showed not only a reduction in the dispersed-phase size with increased TPP content but also fibrillated l...

Compatibilization of immiscible polymer blends using graphene oxide sheets.

By taking the advantage of the unique amphiphilic structure of graphene oxide sheets (GOSs), we develop here a new and effective strategy for compatibilizing immiscible polymer blends. With the incorporation of only 0.5 wt % GOSs into immiscible polyamide/polyphenylene oxide (PA/PPO, 90/10) blends, the droplet diameter of the dispersed minor phase (PPO) is dramatically reduced by more than 1 or...

Compatibilization of polycarbonate/poly (ethylene terephthalate) blends by addition of their transesterification product

In this study, poly carbonate (PC) and poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) were reactive melt-blended under two different conditions to produce PC/PET copolymers. For each condition, samples were taken at specified mixing times representative a specific structure of copolymers and each one employed to physically compatibilize a PC/PET blend with a fixed composition. Reactive blending and copoly...
